Thursday, July 29th, Beyond Benign welcomed 60 middle and high school teachers from around the world to our Green Chemistry & Sustainable Science Curriculum Workshops. The week long workshop was developed to introduce teachers and their students to the topic of Green Chemistry and to provide hands-on inquiry based curriculum units in which students can explore this emerging approach to chemical manufacturing and sustainability. The workshop was held in Boston and featured a trip to Beyond Benign and the Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry's headquarters where working green chemists took time out of their day to work with teachers on "greening" labs they routinely use in their classrooms. These "greened" labs become available on our website, along with our standards-based "for teachers, by teachers" curriculum - free of charge to teachers.
